A RESOLUTION: BATTLEFIELD PARKWAY -ROUTE 15 TO DULLES GREENWAY
PROJECT CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 FOR DESIGN AND
ENGINEERING SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Battlefield Pazkway -Route 15 to Dulles Greenway Project is a funded
capital project; and
WHEREAS, the Town awarded a contract to Rinker Design Associates in February 2007
in the amount of $455,000 to provide design and engineering services for the design of Battlefield
Parkway between Route 15 (South King Street) and Route 621 (Evergreen Mill Road); and
WHEREAS, [he original design contract value has previously been increased to
$553,877.00 due to extension of the project to include 4-laving the existing 2-lane section between
Evergreen Mill Road and the Dulles Greenway and for other additional services requested by the
Town; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $94,090.00 is required in order [o
modify the design to provide an initial 2-lane roadway between South King Street and Evergreen
Mill Road and to coordinate with the proposed Leesburg South subdivision development; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 2 increases the modified design contract amount by more
than the allowable 25% or $50,000, whichever is greater, as allowed by [he Virginia Public
Procurement Ac[ and the CIP Policies and Procedures Manual; and
WHEREAS, the Departrnent of Capital Projects Management recommends that this design
change order be approved.

THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Counci] of the Town of Leesburg m Virginia that the
Town Manager is authorized to execute Change Order No. 2 to the contract with Rinker Design
Associates in the amount of $94,090.00 for providing the additional design and engineering
services for the Battlefield Pazkway -Route 15 to Dulles Cneenway project for a revised design
contract total of $647,967.00.
