A RESOLUTION: AMENDING TFBi FISCAL YEAR 2011-2015 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS
PROGRAM BY CREATING A PROJECT AND APPROVING A SUPPLEMENTAL
APPROPRIATION FOR ACQUISITION OF EASEMENTS TO IMPROVE STORM
DRAINAGE FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT OF THE DOUGLASS SCHOOL SITE
WHEREAS, the County of Loudoun is planning to construct a new elementary school on the current
Douglass school site located between Old Sycolin Road and PIa2a Street; and
WHEREAS, if approved by voter referendum in the fall of 2010, construction will start in the spring of
2011, and the school will open in the fall of 2012; and
WHEREAS, the project provides a mutually beneficial opportunity to improve the storm drainage
system in the area; and
WHEREAS, the Town has $350,000 available from proffers, and the County school system is
contributing $602,059 from school proffers to [he Town for [he project; and
WHEREAS, no additional funding is needed from the Town beyond [he proffer commitments already
identified by [he Town and the Counry school system.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia [ha[ the Fiscal Year
2011-2015 Capital Improvements Program Storm Drainage is hereby amended and a project is added with a
supplemental appropriation in the amount of $952,059 for [he fiscal year beginning July 1, 2010 ending June 3Q
2011 [o acquire easements for s[ortn drainage improvements.
