A RESOLUTION: AMENDING THE FY201 I-2015 CIP TO DELETE THE SOUTHWEST
CONNECTOR TRAIL PHASES 1, II, AND 111 PROJECTS
WHEREAS, the three Capital Improvement Program projects identified as Southwest Connector Tmil
Phases I, II and !II are fully funded in [he FY 201 I-2015 Capital Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, [he projects are currently described in [he FY 2011-2015 Capital Improvement Program
as three phases of a trail system to connect southwest Leesburg with the W&OD Trail and other points north
via a pedestrian bridge over the Route 7 Bypass; and
WHEREAS, Phase I of the project is from South King Street along Clubhouse Drive to Lee Avenue to
Dry Mill Road via a pedestrian bridge over the Route 7 Bypass; and
WHEREAS, Phase II of the project is from Dry Mill Road a[ Lee Avenue [o Catoctin Circle m [he
W&OD Trail; and
WHEREAS, Phase III of the project is from Chancellor Street to Clubhouse Drive; and
WHEREAS, concems have been raised by [he community about the Southwest Connector Trail; and
WHEREAS, a neighborhood meeting was held in June 2010 to hear [he community concems about [he
Southwest Connector Trail Phases I, II and III projects.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of [he Town of Leesburg in V irginia that the FY 20 t 1-
2015 Capital hnprovemen[ Program is amended to delete the Southwest Connector Trail Phases 1, 11 and III
projects.
