A RESOLUTION: CONCERNING BOARD OF SUPERVISOR ACTION ON THE
CHESAPEAKE BAY ACT
WHEREAS, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors is considering final action on the
proposed Chesapeake Bay Act; and
WHEREAS, [he implications of certain aspects of the Chesapeake Bay Ac[ may be detrimental to
Town operations related [o Utilities (water and wastewater) and our Airport; and
WHEREAS, [he Town Council is concerned that [he legislation may place an undue burden on
residents and businesses.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
The Town Council feels that the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors should insure [hat the
pending legislation addresses [he following concerns:
1. Does not impose any permitting or regulatory requirements for water and wastewater
infrastructure in [he County, and owned by [he Town(s).
2. Does no[ result in increased costs [o homeowners in [he County/Town.
3. Should not impose regulations that supersede regulatory actions of the Town now or in
the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, [he Council respectfully requests [he Board of Supervisors defer
decision on [he Chesapeake Bay Ac[ until such time as these concerns can be addressed.
