Committee on Public Works, Meeting March 23, 2010
Report: March 23,2010
The Committee met March 23rd at 6pm in the Council Office to interview three candidates for the
Conservation Commission. Present were: Susan Falkoff, Chair; Steve Corbett, Vice -chair; and Vincent
Piccirilli, Secretary.
Patrick Fairbairn — reappointment to February 15, 2013
Stan Sadkowski — appointment to February 15, 2011
The Committee met individually with both candidates and discussed their views as members of the
Conservation Commission.
Mr. Fairbairn brings a wealth of information to the Commission as a wetlands scientist with years of
project experience. He was excited about the update of the wetlands ordinance that was recently
completed, as well as the creation of the Stormwater Advisory Committee. He sees significant
opportunity in the plan to reclassify Whitney Hill as conservation land. The Committee thanked Mr.
Fairbairn for his many years of service to the Town.
Mr. Sadkowski has a background in civil and geotechnical engineering, and specializes in hydro -
geological engineering, with experience in project design, construction, and management. The
Committee felt that his skills and experience would serve the Town well on the commission.
The committee unanimously approved the two candidates, and recommends their confirmation by the
full Town Council.
The meeting adjourned at 6:40.
