A RESOLUTION: AWARDING A CONTRACT TO REPLACE THE HEATING
VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM AT THE
LEESBURG PUBLIC SAFETY CENTER TO HARVEY W. HOTTEL,
INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $123,068.00
WHEREAS, the replacement of heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC)
equipment at the Leesburg Public Safety Center is funded by the Capital Asset Replacement
Reserve; and
WHEREAS, in response to a public solicitation for bids, the Town received three bids on
November 19, 2010 from the following firms:
Harvey W. Hottel, Inc. $123,068.00
Miller and Anderson, Inc. $145,499.00
Riddleberger Brothers, Inc. $150,190.00; and
WHEREAS, the bids were evaluated by the Building Maintenance Supervisor and the
Chief Purchasing Officer in accordance with the Town's Purchasing Policy; and
WHEREAS, Harvey W. Hottel, Inc. was determined the lowest responsive and
responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, this is a lump sum not to exceed contract; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police recommends approval of the award of contract.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia the
Town Manager is authorized to execute a contract, in a form approved by the Town Attorney,

with Harvey W. Hottel, Inc., in the amount of $123,068.00 for HVAC replacement at the
Leesburg Public Safety Center.
