6) Neighboring Community Park & Trail Plans
The Park Commission reviewed the park and trail plans from the neighboring
communities of Corcoran, Independence, Maple Plain, Orono, and Plymouth.
The following observations were made:
• Orono shows a future proposed trail along Tamarack, which Medina also shows a
future proposed trail.
• The Maple Plain and Independence map did not show any connections to Medina.
• Independence did not provide a map of their entire city so the possible trail
connections that boarder the City of Independence and the City of Medina still
need to be reviewed.
• Corcoran will be developing the southeastern portion of Corcoran just to the north
of Hackamore Road. The City of Medina and the City of Corcoran will be
updating Hackamore Road when the development happens and a trail will be
constructed on the south side of Hackamore Road.
