RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -018 ADOPTED February 8, 2011
A RESOLUTION: AWARDING TWO PURCHASE CONTRACTS FOR CARDIO-
VASCULAR FITNESS EQUIPMENT AT IDA LEE PARK
RECREATION CENTER TOTALING $240,062.17
WHEREAS, the purchase of replacement cardiovascular fitness equipment at the Ida Lee
Park Recreation Center is funded by the Capital Asset Replacement Reserve; and
WHEREAS, in response to a public solicitation for unit price bids for select cardiovascular
fitness equipment, the Town received bids on December 29, 2010 from the following firms:
Greener Concepts, Fitness Resource, Life Fitness, Gym Source and EnerG Wellness; and
WHEREAS, the bids were evaluated by Parks and Recreation staff and the Chief
Purchasing Officer in accordance with the Town purchasing policy; and
WHEREAS, the following companies were determined to be the lowest responsive and
responsible bidders for each equipment lot: Life Fitness for treadmills and bikes; EnerG Wellness
for ellipticals and adaptive trainers; and
WHEREAS, this is a unit price contract and the estimated quantities multiplied by the unit
price, less the trade -in value of existing equipment, have established the not -to- exceed contract
price; and
WHEREAS, nine of the treadmills purchased will not be outfitted with a video monitor
screen in order to preserve the sight lines within the fitness area of the Ida Lee Park Recreation
Center; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation recommends approval of the award of
these contracts.

A RESOLUTION: AWARDING THE PURCHASE CONTRACTS FOR CARDIO-
VASCULAR FITNESS EQUIPMENT AT IDA LEE PARK
RECREATION CENTER IN THE AMOUNT OF $240,062.17
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that
the Town Manager is authorized to purchase the specified treadmills and bikes from Life Fitness
and specified elliptical and adaptive trainers from EnergG Wellness in the amounts of $154,987.17
and $85,075 respectively.
