A RESOLUTION: AMENDING THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR
FISCAL YEARS 2011 -2015 BY REVISING THE BATTLEFIELD
PARKWAY ROUTE 15 TO DULLES GREENWAY PROJECT
PRESENTED February 8, 2011
RESOLUTION NO. 2011-019 ADOPTED February 8, 2011
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg has an approved project in the Capital Improvement
Program for Fiscal Years 2011 -2015 to extend Battlefield Parkway from Route 15 South to the
Dulles Greenway; and
WHEREAS, the Capital Improvement Program for Fiscal Years 2011 -2015 includes funds
for design and construction of only two lanes of this section of Battlefield Parkway in the amount
of $5,809,420; and
WHEREAS, the Battlefield Parkway project needs additional funds in the amount of
$6,200,000 for design and construction of the remaining two lanes of this section from Route 15
South to the Dulles Greenway; and
WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Virginia is developing a transportation funding
program as part of the 2011 General Assembly that may provide the additional funding necessary
to design and construct the remaining two lanes of Battlefield Parkway from Route 15 South to the
Dulles Greenway.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Capital Improvement Program for Fiscal Years 2011 -2015 is hereby amended to include additional
funding in the amount of $6,200,000 from the Commonwealth of Virginia in order to complete the
