COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE
Meeting Minutes
October 14, 2009
Chairman Paul Hush called the meeting to order at 4:30 PM.
Members present were; Elliott Carr, Jeanne Boehm, Elizabeth Taylor, Roland Bassett
Jr., Paul Ruchinskas, and Paul Hush.
1) Approval of Minutes of January 14, 2009
Motion by Elliot Carr to approve minutes as presented
Second by Roland Bassett Jr.
VOTE 5-0-0
Approval of Minutes of September 9, 2009
Motion by Roland Bassett Jr. to approve minutes as presented
Second by Paul Ruchinskas
VOTE 4-0-1
2) CPC Application
MOTION by Roland Bassett Jr. to APPROVE CPC Application as presented
Second by Elliott Carr
VOTE 6-0-0
3) Signs for CPC Projects
Ask for a mock up sign with various fonts for Committee approval
2x2 signs- white sign with green lettering, green edge border
Check with Chris Miller as to Open Space signs
Temporary signs to be placed at the following; Cape Rep., Crosby Mansion,
Blacksmith's Shop, Tennis Courts, and Gristmill.
Permanent Signs to be placed on the Windmill/Blacksmith Shop in the future.
Check with Historic Committee and Victor Staley as to the legality of placing signs
Order 5 signs with posts
MOTION by Roland Bassett Jr. to order five (5) signs with posts as proposed.

4) Review Article for Town Warrant
Final warrant write-up was done by Mark Robinson
Article asks for total amount, and summary does not clarify that the CPC's
$675,000 is contingent upon the State grant of $500,000.
Elizabeth Taylor will present to Town Meeting and will describe CPC vote.
5) Updates of approved Projects
Cape Rep- final bills given to Lisa Souve, they will return with final presentation and
pictures when complete.
Crosby Mansion- floors are done
Blacksmith Shop- coming along
Tennis Courts- ground breaking complete
Latham- some pre-cost monies spent about $10,000 left
Brewster Woods (not approved)- nothing happening at this date.
6) Other Business
A. Michael Lach intending to resign= Selectmen's appointment- must be done
officially
B. Housing Membership- Brewster Housing Authority has so far not
recommended a person for their spot on the CPC. Their nomination does not have
to be a staffer or Board member in the Housing Authority as long as it is
someone who will represent their interests
C. SB90- very successful and moving ahead
D. Housing Plan- The state requested minor edits to the Plan which the
consultant made. Town just needs to submit the edited version.

Resume regular schedule after the first of the year (SECOND and FOURTH
Wednesday of each month)
