I am a research analyst at BuildZoom, a data intelligence company based in San Francisco that provides marketing insights based off a proprietary database of license & building permit data. I request that documents containing building permits for the last 10 years be provided to me. I would prefer the data in electronic format (e.g. excel or pdf), however any format you can send them in is fine. I am looking for comprehensive data that includes the following variables 1) Business name of contractor 2) Address of project 3) Project description 4) Project valuation 5) Permit number 6) Date of issue I am also interested in any other relevant variables you may have available If permits for the last 10 years are unavailable or unduly burdensome, please let me know what a more suitable time frame would be. If you have any questions or concerns regarding my request, please let me know what I can do to accommodate. Thank you for your consideration of this request. Sincerely, Jean de los Reyes TOWN OF GULF STREAM PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA Delivered via e-mail March 31, 2015 Jean delos Reyes [mail to: jean@buildzoom.com] Re: GS #1825 (Access to building permits for analysis) I request that documents containing building permits for the last 10 years be provided to me. Dear Jean delos Reyes [mail to: iean(a)buildzoom.coml, The Town of Gulf Stream received your public records requests dated March 23, 2015. You should be able to view your original requests at the following http://www2.aulf- stream.orc/WebLink8 /0 /doc /43082 /Pagel.aspx. If your request was verbal, then the description of your public records request is set forth in the italics above. In future correspondence, please refer to this public records request by the above referenced numbers. The Town of Gulf Stream is currently in the process of converting all of our documents to digital files. We have a number of our building permits already available online for the public to view and are adding new ones every day. You can find these permits by going to www. gulf- stream.org, click on "I want to.. ", "Find a Town Record ", click on "Building Department', click on "Land File ", click on "Addresses ", then you may pick whichever address you desire that is available to view. Each address may have several files (building permits) available. We estimate that we will be finished with this project completely within the next 2- 3 months. If this time frame does not work for you and you need the records expedited, the Town will incur expenses for the production of the remaining documents. You are responsible for the costs of duplication, as allowed by Chapter 119, Florida Statutes, and you may also incur a special service charge for the labor needed to respond to this request. Delray Blueprint is estimating that the cost to do this would be $53,257.50 ($12,007.50 for the 8 1 /2x 11 pages and $41,250.00 for the 24 x 36 pages) to be completed in approximately a month. If the costs of producing these documents will exceed your deposit, the Town will provide you with an initial production of responsive records and an estimate for the production of any additional responsive records. If the costs of production are less than the deposit, the Town will provide you with the responsive records and a refund. If you would like to narrow the scope of your request, for example, by identifying a particular document type or date range, the Town maybe able to provide these records at a lower cost. Deposit Due: $53,257.50 in cash or check. The Town of Gulf Stream is currently working on a large number of incoming public records requests. Upon receipt of your deposit, the Town will use its very best efforts to further respond to your public records request in a reasonable amount of time. Sincerely, Town Clerk
