RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -038
A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING A REQUEST FOR MATCHING FUNDS FROM THE
VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (VDOT) FY2012
REVENUE SHARING PROGRAM FOR SYCOLIN ROAD LEFT TURN
LANES TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT THE TAVISTOCK DRIVE
INTERSECTION
WHEREAS, the Sycolin Road Project is a Capital Project in the Town's FY2012 -2013 Capital
Improvement Program and is estimated to cost approximately $1,200,000; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg desires to submit an application for an allocation of funds
of up to $600,000 through the VDOT FY2012 Revenue Sharing Program; and
WHEREAS, $600,000 is requested as funds to match $600,000 in local funds for the Sycolin
Road Left Turn Lanes Traffic Signal at the Tavistock Drive intersection.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. The Town Council supports this application for an allocation of $600,000 through
the VDOT FY2012 Revenue Sharing Program.
SECTION II. The Town Manager is authorized to execute any and all documents associated
with the grant application.
