RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -056 ADOPTED May 10, 2011
A RESOLUTION: AMENDING THE FY 2011 UTILITIES FUND BUDGET AND
MAKING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT
OF $164,700 TO THE UTILITIES FUND OPERATING BUDGET TO
IMPLEMENT A U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY BLOCK GRANT
FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND CONSERVATION
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg received an Energy Efficiency and Conservation
Block Grant in the amount of $164,700 from the U.S. Department of Energy in 2009; and
WHEREAS, $83,425 of the block grant funds were used to conduct a Town -wide Energy
Audit that was completed in 2010; and
WHEREAS, the remaining $81,275 of the block grant funds are being used for selected
retrofits to Utilities Department facilities and operating systems (e.g. energy efficient lighting,
HVAC system upgrades, solatube installation, etc.) to reduce energy consumption and improve
operating systems efficiency; and
WHEREAS, appropriating funds is necessary to complete the grant projects.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
FY2011 Utilities Fund Budget is hereby amended and a supplemental appropriation is made in
the amount of $164,700 for the Utilities Fund Operating Budget for the fiscal year beginning
July 1, 2010 and ending June 30, 2011.
