A RESOLUTION: TO AUTHORIZE THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN MOU
BETWEEN THE TOWN OF LEESBURG AND THE COUNTY OF
LOUDOUN REGARDING THE MASON ENTERPRISE CENTER
LEESBURG
WHEREAS, the Town has been working in collaboration with George Mason University to
establish the Mason Enterprise Center Leesburg (MEC) to serve as an incubator to assist start up
businesses with space and administrative support; and
WHEREAS, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to appropriate
$100,000 to support the first three years of the MEC— FY2010 through FY 2012; and
WHEREAS, the Center will be managed by George Mason University pursuant to an
executed Memorandum of Agreement with the Town; and
WHEREAS, the Town has drafted a Memorandum of Understanding to establish the timing
of the County payments and County participation on the board which will govern the MEC and has
forwarded it to the County, but the Town has not yet received County approval of the MOU.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Town Manager shall execute the MOU so long as it remains the same MOU that has been drafted by
the Town and attached to this Resolution.
