AMENDING THE FY2012 GENERAL FUND BUDGET AND
MAKING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT
OF $30,000 FOR THREE (3) PUSH BUTTON ACTIVATED
WARNING LIGHTS ON THE ROUTE 7 INTERCHANGE RAMPS AT
SOUTH KING STREET CONTINGENT UPON FINAL APPROVAL
FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg has installed push -button activated warning lights at
crosswalks in several locations in Town; and
WHEREAS, the Town has received positive feedback regarding these warning lights; and
WHEREAS, the Route 7 Interchange ramps are maintained by the Virginia Department
of Transportation (VDOT); and
WHEREAS, installation of push- button activated warning lights at the three (3) locations
where the South King Street Trail crosses ramps at the Route 7 Interchange at South King Street
will help drivers observe pedestrians using the crosswalks; and
WHEREAS, final approval of the push -button activated warning lights on the Route 7
Interchange ramps on South King Street will be determined by VDOT; and
WHEREAS, the push- button activated warning lights will be maintained by the Town of
Leesburg.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
The FY2012 General Fund Operating Budget is hereby amended and a supplemental
appropriation is made in the amount of $30,000 for the Department of Public Works for the
fiscal year beginning July 1, 2011 and ending June 30, 2012, contingent upon approval by
