RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -097 ADOPTED August 30, 2011
A RESOLUTION: APPROVING CHANGE ORDERS NO. 5, 6, 7, AND 8 FOR THE DRY
MILL, WAGE AND ANNE STORM DRAINAGE PROJECT,
AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE THEM, AND
INCREASING THE PROJECT BUDGET
WHEREAS, the Dry Mill, Wage and Anne Storm Drainage project is a funded
capital project; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2008 -188 awarded the construction contract to R.L. Rider
Company in the amount of $1,044,640; and
WHEREAS, Change Orders No. 1 through 4, in the amount of $263,527.10, are within
the 25% of the original contact value and have been administratively approved; and
WHEREAS, Change Orders No. 5 through 8, in the amount of $196,824.79, caused the
cumulative sum of change orders to exceed the higher of $50,000 or 25% administrative
approval level and thus requires Town Council approval; and
WHEREAS, the budget for this project is $1,874,410 in the FY 2012 -2017 CIP; and
WHEREAS, the total project cost to date is approximately $1,953,763.42 including
design, land acquisition and construction; and
WHEREAS, Change Orders No. 5 through 8 exceeds the available budget by $79,353.42;
and
WHEREAS, the Finance Director has reviewed and determined that there are sufficient
funds available in the capital projects fund to cover this overage; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Capital Projects and the Town Manager recommend
approval of these change orders and adjustment to the project budget.

AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE THEM, AND
INCREASING THE PROJECT BUDGET
THEREFORE, RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that:
SECTION I: Change Orders No. 5, 6, 7, and 8 in the total amount of $196,824.79 are
hereby approved, and the Town Manager is hereby authorized to execute these change orders.
SECTION II: The available budget for the Dry Mill, Wage and Anne Storm Drainage
project is increased by $79,353.42 from available capital projects funds.
