RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -111 ADOPTED August 30, 2011
A RESOLUTION: APPROVING THE WAIVER OF FEES FOR THE EIGHTH ANNUAL
BATTLEFIELD RUN IN SUPPORT OF THE SPECIAL OPERATIONS
WARRIOR FOUNDATION
WHEREAS, the Eighth Annual Battlefield Run in support of the Special Operations Warrior
Foundation will originate in Leesburg on September 17, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the event is expected to draw between 250 -300 participants for the ride from
Leesburg to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, the funds generated from this event are used to support the Special Operations
Warrior Foundation; and
WHEREAS, the associated cost for three dedicated officers while the event is within
Leesburg is $450.00, and the special event application fee is $50.00.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
associated fees in the amount of $500.00 for the Eighth Annual Battlefield Run are waived.
