The VRPS’ annual awards are a prestigious statewide program that honors individuals, agencies

areas during the previous year. In 2012, over 110 applications were received vying for awards in
seventeen categories, including Best New Program, Best New Special Event, Best New Facility
and promotional awards for basic, specialty, flyers and electronic media. The nominations were
evaluated by a panel of parks and recreational professionals.
“It’s always an honor to be recognized by your peers on a statewide basis,” said Richard
Williams, Leesburg’s Director of Parks & Recreation. “This type of accomplishment is made
possible through the hard work of our team of dedicated parks and recreation professionals
along with the support of the Mayor, Town Council and the entire Leesburg community.”
