A RESOLUTION: CHANGING THE SPEED LIMIT ON BA'T'TLEFIELD PARKWAY
FROM 35 MPH TO 40 MPH BETWEEN ROUTE 7 AND KINCAID
BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, permanent changes to speed limits on Town controlled roads in Leesburg
must be made by action of the Town Council; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department conducted a traffic engineering investigation
to evaluate the current speed limit on Battlefield Parkway and concluded that the speed limit
should be increased from 35 MPH to 40 MPH between the Route 7 and Kincaid Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department supports this change.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The speed limit on Battlefield Parkway between Route 7 and Kincaid
Boulevard shall be 40 MPH.
SECTION II. The Town Manager shall direct Town staff to install the appropriate speed
limit signs established by this resolution.
