RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -001 ADOPTED January 4, 2012
A RESOLUTION: MAKING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE TOWN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2 -6 of the Leesburg Town Charter, vacancies in the
office of Council Member for whatever cause shall be filled for the unexpired portion of the term by
majority vote of the remaining members of the Council; and
WHEREAS, Kenneth Reid was elected to the office of Loudoun County Board of
Supervisors effective January 1, 2012, thereby vacating his seat as a member of Council; and
WHEREAS, the Circuit Court of Loudoun County has issued a Writ of Special Election to
be held April 17, 2012, to fill the remainder of the term for which Kenneth Reid was originally
elected, and which expires June 30, 2014, but will be extended to December 31, 2014 due to the
voter's referendum.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that C. Terry
Titus is hereby appointed to the Leesburg Town Council to fill the seat of Kenneth Reid until such
time as the council member elected in the April 17th Special Election is qualified to take Office.
PASSED this 4th day of Janugn 2012.
