A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING REIMBURSEMENT FOR WATER LINE UPSIZING
AND INSTALLATION OF A CASING PIPE AT PMW FARMS
DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the Town's water transmission main report of 2009 had identified the need
for construction of a new 16" water line along River Creek Parkway and Fort Evans Road to the
Carr tanks; and
WHEREAS, Town staff became aware of the PMW Farms deveoper's intentions to build
a new water line at approximately same location; and
WHEREAS, developer also proposed a new roadway crossing the Town's existing
effluent force main to Potomac River whereby a future second parallel pipe is propsed . This
crossing would necessitate the need for a casing pipe to eliminate the need for closure of the
roadway in future; and
WHEREAS, developer has completed the construction and has submitted a
reimbursement request to the town; and
WHEREAS, the installation has been accepted by the Town and staff has reviewed the
reimbursement request provided by developer and are in agreement with the requested amount;
and
WHEREAS, The adopted 2012 -2017 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) has allocated
funds in FY -2012 in the amount of $400,000.00 for this project; and
WHEREAS, The total negotiated cost for these improvements now totals $156,580.00,
resulting in savings of $243,420.00 for the Town.

DEVELOPMENT
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Town manager is hereby authorized to reimburse the developer for the costs associated with this
proposal.
