RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -022 ADOPTED February 28, 2012
A RESOLUTION: AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR EMPLOYEE MEDICAL AND
DENTAL INSURANCE TO ANTHEM BLUE CROSS /BLUE SHIELD.
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg provides its employees with comprehensive health and
dental insurance benefits; and
WHEREAS, staff and consultant, Wells Fargo Insurance Consultants sought bid proposals
and received two responses for health insurance, one from United Healthcare and one from Anthem
Blue Cross/Blue Shield and seven dental proposals; and
WHEREAS, the final offer from Anthem Blue Cross /Blue Shield has been deemed to
provide the best coverage at a fair and reasonable cost for the Town and employees.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Town Manager is authorized to conclude negotiations and execute a contract, in a form approved by
the Town Attorney, with Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield for medical and dental insurance for the
fiscal year beginning July 1, 2012.
