HomeMy Public PortalAbout1987.10.22 LBT - MinutesMCCALL PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD MEETING OCTOBER 22, 1987 CALL TO ORDER Trustee Emily Newcomer called the meeting to order, 6:00 p.m. Present were Mrs. Kerr, Mrs. Clemmer, Mrs. Newcomer and Mrs. Cantrell. OLD BUSINESS Budget: A cost of living approval by council gave all city employees a 2.4% raise. The Budget was cut by approximately $2500.00. (Gloria says a workable budget if we watch things close) Summer Reading: Very successful with approximately 25 children completing the program. Several programs were held with guest speakers, including Francine Miller from Australia, the llamas from the llama ranch, smoke jumpers, Skip Taylor, the fish hatchery. The first week 65 children attended but with swimming lessons and other activities we lost several children along the way. (Thank You letter to coordinator of summer reading program enclosed) NEW NEWS Carpet: Shampooed last Sunday looks great, but they did leave a spot that needs re -done, Gloria will call and ask them to come back and re -do. Windows: The city replaced the broken windows in the back of the library. Lets Talk: This falls reading program seems to be going well. Nov. 5th will be the last book review. Statistical Report: The McCall Public Library will host a Library Statistical Report Work SHop. This work shop will include all libraries in Dist. 3 (29 in all) Gloria and Andy Ribner filpm the State Library will present the work shop. 7:00 p.m. meeting adjourned.
