Leesburg Parks & Recreation Department Wins Silver Award
for Flower & Garden Festival Ad at 2012 IFEA Annual
Convention
Leesburg, VA (October 3, 2012) – At the 2012
International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA)
annual convention & expo, the Town of Leesburg’s
Parks & Recreation Department received a Silver
Pinnacle Award for Best Single Magazine Display Ad
for the 2012 Flower & Garden Festival (pictured at
right).
Each year, the IFEA/Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle
Awards recognize outstanding accomplishment and
top quality creative, promotional, operational and
community outreach programs and materials
produced by festivals and events around the world.
Awards are presented in 69 different subject
categories, each divided into four budget
categories. Leesburg competed in the “Under
$250,000” budget category.
“We would like to congratulate all of our Pinnacle
winners for their outstanding entries into this year’s competition,” said IFEA President & CEO,
Steven Wood Schmader, CFEE. “The IFEA/Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle Awards Competition
recognizes the outstanding accomplishments by festivals and events around the world. Striving
for the highest degree of excellence in festival and event promotions and operations in every
budget level and every corner of the globe, this competition has not only raised the standards
and quality of the festivals and events industry to new levels, but also shows how event
producers can use innovation and creativity to achieve a higher level of success.”

level,” said Rich Williams, Leesburg’s Director of Parks & Recreation. “This recognition
highlights the outstanding work by Town staff to produce what is Leesburg’s signature event,
and the value that the Festival brings to the community as a whole.”
