Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, March 20 at 6:10 PM
Present:
Councilor Kounelis, Chair
Councilor Falkoff, Vice Chair
Councilor Palomba, Secretary
Purpose:
To interview Mr. Louis Fabrizio for reappointment
to the Board of Election Commissioners for a term of
four years, ending April 1, 2016
Mr. Fabrizio noted that since he was appointed in 2008 there has been significant turn-
over in members and that the present Commission members have learned to
successfully work together. They have conducted a series of special elections, write-in
elections and recounts as well as regularly scheduled elections. He felt that the integrity
of the election process has been upheld during all elections and recounts. He also
acknowledge the contribution of Mr. Chris Sullivan, who has recently joined the office
of the Town Clerk. Mr. Sullivan has conducted a number of trainings for poll workers.
In response to Councilor Falkoff's question regarding the availability of minutes of the
Commission's meeting, he acknowledge that this should have been a regular practice
and in the future would see that minutes would be made available to the public. He
responded to Councilor Kounelis' question regarding what he would like to see happen
during his next term with two recommendations — continue regular trainings of poll
workers and increase efforts to recruit new poll workers.
Councilor Falkoff made a motion to reappoint Mr. Fabrizio to a second, 4 -year term to
the Election Commission. Councilor Palomba seconded the motion and it was passed
by a 3 — 0 vote.
Councilor Kounelis made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:25 PM. The motion was
seconded and passed.
