RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -077 ADOPTED June 26, 2012
A RESOLUTION: ADOPTING TLTA -2011 -0003 "5 -YEAR TOWN PLAN UPDATE"
WHEREAS, the Virginia State Code requires local jurisdictions to maintain a
comprehensive plan and review said plan at least once every five years; and
WHEREAS, the Town Plan adopted in 2005 is the comprehensive plan for the Town of
Leesburg; and
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Planning Commission completed a thorough review of the
Town Plan and forwarded a certified copy of the proposed Town Plan amendments to Town
Council on February 2, 2012 and in order to give Council additional review time, the Planning
Commission recertified the amendments again on April 19, 2012 ; and
WHEREAS, Town Council has duly considered and discussed the proposed
amendments; and
WHEREAS, Town Council held an public input session on May 22, 2012 and a public
hearing on the proposed amendments on June 12, 2012 (TLTA -2011 -0003, "Town Plan
Update ") and considered the input received; and
WHEREAS, Town Council has determined that the revised Town Plan provides guidance
for development of the Town in a manner that promotes the health, safety, convenience,
prosperity and general welfare for Leesburg.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that
TLTA- 2011 -0003 "5 -Year Town Plan Update" is hereby approved as described in the February
2, 2012 Planning Commission certified draft with revisions made by Leesburg Town Council

A RESOLUTION: ADOPTING TLTA- 2011 -0003 "5 -YEAR TOWN PLAN UPDATE"
based on the "Comments and Recommendations Matrix" dated June 25, 2012 as amended by the
decisions made by Council at their June 25, 2012 work session and as summarized in the June
26, 2012 staff memo.
PASSED this 26`h day of June, 2012.
