A RESOLUTION: APPROVING A WAIVER OF FEES IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,300
ASSOCIATED WITH THE LOUDOUN SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA'S
CONCERT AT IDA LEE PARK TO COMMEMORATE THE
BICENTENNIAL OF LEESBURG' S ROLE IN THE WAR OF 1812
WHEREAS, the Loudoun Symphony has requested financial support in the form of a fee
waiver from the Town for the production of a concert to celebrate the bicentennial of Leesburg's
involvement in the War of 1812, and
WHEREAS, in conjunction with the Journey Through Hallowed Ground, the Loudoun
Symphony Orchestra plans to hold the event on September 23, 2012 at Ida Lee Park, and
WHEREAS, the Town Council recognizes the special significance Leesburg holds in the
War of 1812 while briefly serving as the Capital of the United States, and
WHEREAS, the $4,300 fee waiver represents a waiver of rental fees for the use of Ida Lee
Park in the amount of $2,000, and the remaining $2,300 represents the real cost to cover associated
staffing and electronic sign board usage to be funded by existing contingency funds within in the
FY 13 budget.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that a fee
waiver in an amount up to $4,300 is approved in support of the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra's
concert celebrating the bicentennial of Leesburg's involvement in the War of 1812.
