New Hours at Thomas Balch Library
Leesburg, VA (July 19, 2019) – Beginning
August 1, 2019, the Thomas Balch Library will
stay open every Thursday evening until 8 p.m.
The change will allow guests the opportunity to
visit the history and genealogy library after
school or work. Normal library hours will be as
follows:
• Monday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Wednesday, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
According to Library Director Alexandra Gressitt, patrons have continued to inquire about
longer hours over the course of the last 15 years. The Thomas Balch Library continues to
welcome over 34,000 visitors annually, while responding to more than 32,000 requests for
reference services.
