A RESOLUTION: APPROVAL OF AN ANNUAL FEE WAIVER FOR THE CIVIL AIR PATROL
FOR ONE TIE DOWN SPOT AT THE LEESBURG EXECUTIVE AIRPORT
WHEREAS, the Civil Air Patrol is a Congressionally charted, federally supported, non - profit
organization that serves as the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force; and
WHEREAS, the Civil Air Patrol performs three main functions that include emergency services
such as search and rescue and disaster relief support; aerospace education; and cadet leadership training;
and
WHEREAS, the Civil Air Patrol has formally requested an annual fee waiver for a tie down for
their aircraft that is based at the Leesburg Executive Airport; and
WHEREAS, the current annual fee for one tie down spot at the Leesburg Executive Airport is
valued at $1,356 or $113 per month; and
WHEREAS, the Airport Director recommends approval of the annual fee for one tie down spot
for the Civil Air Patrol's aircraft that is based at the Leesburg Executive Airport; and
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Airport Commission, at their October 4, 2012 regular meeting,
endorsed the annual fee waiver for one tie down spot for the Civil Air Patrol's aircraft that is based at the
Leesburg Executive Airport.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the annual
fee for one tie down spot at the Leesburg Executive Airport for use by the Civil Air Patrol is hereby
waived.
