Thomas Balch Library to Host Loudoun History Awards on
Sunday, November 11, 2012
Leesburg, VA (October 23, 2012) – Four individuals will receive 2012 Loudoun History Awards
at the 20th annual awards ceremony sponsored by Thomas Balch Library Advisory Commission.
The awards ceremony will take place at 2:00pm on Sunday, November 11 at the Thomas Balch
Library, 208 West Market Street, Leesburg, Virginia.
This year’s honorees are Kenneth Fleming for his contributions to research and preservation of
Loudoun County history; Jim Hanna for his contributions to the advocacy, preservation,
photographic documentation, and promotion of Loudoun County history; Louis Jett for his
contributions to research and preservation of the memory of African Americans in Loudoun
County’s history; and James P. Lucier, Sr. for his contributions to the advocacy, preservation,
historical research and writing of Loudoun County history.
These individuals have made significant contributions to preserving Loudoun’s past through
collection of county documents and memorabilia, preservation of historic landmarks, visual
arts, writing, and long-time commitment to local history organizations.
