Leesburg, VA (August 4, 2020) – The Leesburg Commission on Public Art (COPA) is pleased to announce a new art display currently available for viewing on the first floor of Leesburg Town Hall (25 West Market Street). Vistas of Virginia, the Art of Ligia Inra features 24 pieces of mixed media art that depicts horses, florals, and landscapes from the Northern Virginia area. “All are driven by my inclination to paint on prepared textured surfaces for added visual statements,” Inra said. “Mixed media art has given me the constant challenge to be out of the ordinary. All of my inspiration comes from real world experiences and personal stories.” Inra was born in Acapulco, Mexico where she grew up surrounded by music, literature, and art. She lived in New York City for over 30 years, which afforded her an even deeper appreciation of art. She has lived in Loudoun County for the past 20 years. Inra’s work has been exhibited in local juried shows including Art at The Mill, Artist in Middleburg, the Tryst Gallery, Waterford Art & Craft Fair, and local libraries. It has also been a part of private collections throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The Town Hall exhibit will run through November 30, 2020. The public is encouraged to stop by and see the art during normal business hours at Leesburg Town Hall. For more information about the artist visit www.ligiainra.com. The first floor lobby and hallway of the Leesburg Town Hall features rotating exhibits by Leesburg and Loudoun artists.
