Town’s Growing Public Art Collection Featured in New Online
Walking Tour
The self-guided tour includes 11 pieces of artwork on display throughout
downtown Leesburg.
Leesburg, VA (August 11, 2020) – A new public art tour is available on
“TourLeesburg”, the Town’s self-guided walking tour program.
Smartphone users can take the tour through the “TourLeesburg” app
or via their preferred web browser.
The new public art tour features eleven pieces of artwork at seven
locations within downtown Leesburg. The tour includes images, maps,
and details of each site, which features the bike mural inside the Town
Hall parking garage, ArtsPARKs at Raflo Park, and the Stanley Caulkins
Memorial Bench on King Street, just to name a few. The tour will be
updated to include additional public art pieces as they are installed.
Viewers may follow along as they are guided from site to site or can
choose to turn on the GeoAlerts feature, which will alert them to when they are near a site
included on the tour.
The Town debuted its walking tour app in August 2017 with two historical tours of downtown.
Tour Leesburg currently features four tours, with two additional tours under development. The
free app is available in the App Store and Google Play. The website version is available at
tourleesburg.oncell.com.
