Bulk Leaf Collection Resumes October 19, 2020
Fall leaves placed at the curb will be collected through the end of December.
Leesburg, VA (September 17, 2020) – Leesburg’s annual fall bulk leaf collection will start on
Monday, October 19, 2020. Residents are asked to follow these guidelines for the collection of
fall leaves:
Keep leaves away from storm inlets, fire hydrants,
and utility boxes.
Keep leaf piles within 4 feet of the curb.
On streets without curb and gutter, place leaves
along the front property line, close to the street.
Keep vehicles at least 4 feet away from leaf piles.
Do not place equipment or toys near the leaves.
Do not mix grass clippings, yard waste, brush, or
trash with leaves.
** Leaf piles that do not meet the above guidelines may not be collected. **
Because leaf volume varies significantly throughout the season there is no set schedule for leaf
collection. Town crews will attempt to collect leaves from every street once per week but
routes may take up to 10 business days. Inclement weather or a heavy fall of leaves may delay
collection.
Final leaf pickup will be the week of December 28 and will include leaf piles placed at the curb
no later than 7 a.m. that day. After this date, leaves must be set out in yard waste cans or paper
yard waste bags to be collected as trash. For more information please visit
