APPROVING POLICY FOR APPOINTMENTS OF ALTERNATE
MEMBERS OF THE ZONING BOARD TO REGULAR MEMBERSHIP
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-69, the Zoning Board of Adjustment of
the Borough of Carteret has, as part of its membership, two alternate members; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Goveming Body that ifa vacancy exists due to
removal, resignation or death of a regular member, that a sitting alternate member be
appointed to the vacancy; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret hereby resolves to appoint alternate members of the Zoning
Board of Adjustment to regular membership whenever a vacancy occurs and
encourages future Mayors and Council to follow this procedure.
Adopted this 21st day of March, 1996
and certified as a true copy of the
original on March 22, 1996.
