HomeMy Public PortalAbout2882-1974 - Zoning - 1500 National Rd West - C-1 to C-4 - StrickenORDINANCE NO. 2882-1974 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2325-1968 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, ADOPTED JUNE 3, 1968. BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: SECTION 1. WHEREAS, the Zoning Map which is a part of Ordinance No. 2325- 1968 designates and describes as C-1 Neighborhood Business District the following described property located at 1500 National Road West, in the City of Richmond, Indiana, more particularly described as follows: Lot #6 & 7, Earlham Heights Addition SECTION 2. WHEREAS, it is the intent and purpose hereof to change the Zoning Classification of the above described area from C-1 to C-4. SECTION 3. WHEREAS, a study of this Ordinance was conducted by the Richmond City Plan Commission the day of , 1974, at which time remonstrances were heard from all parties interested in or affected by this Ordinance. SECTION 4. WHEREAS, the vote of the Richmond City Plan Commission was to in favor of / opposition to recommending the passage of Ordinance No. 2882-1974. NOW THEREFORE: SECTION 5. It is hereby ordained that the zoning classification of the above described property be, and the same is hereby changed to C-4 General Business District, and that said property be regulated in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Richmond, Indiana, and all amendments thereto. SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as by law required. SECTION 7. The original zoning classification of the aforementioned area is hereby rescinded and the zoning classification of this area will be in accor- dance with Section 2 of this Ordinance. Mayor ATTEST: City Clerk PETITION TO WITHDRAW AND STRIKE ORDINANCE NO. 2882-1974 WHEREAS, this ordinance was submitted to rezone a portion of a C-1 Neighborhood Business District to C-4 General Business District classification. WHEREAS, the owners Ruth and Dale Stanton no longer wish the Richmond City Council to consider this request to rezone for the reason they feel C-4 would be too broad a zoning classification for the area.
