PLAINFIELD, IL 60544 Phone: (815) 436-6544 – Fax: (815)-436-9681 BLOCK PARTY GUIDELINES The following items serve as a guide when applying for or considering a block party street closure within the Village of Plainfield. Additional information may be found at www.plainfield-il.org under Municipal Codes, or by contacting the Support Services Commander at the Plainfield Police Department. 1. All block parties shall be designed to ensure that access can be available for emergency vehicles and any resident wishing to use the public right-of-way. 2. No block party shall extend beyond 12:00 midnight upon any portion of the public right-of-way. 3. Barricades must be picked up by the organizers from Plainfield Public Works, 14400 S. Coil Plus Drive, Plainfield, IL 60544. Monday through Friday (except Holidays) between 7:30 am – 11:30 am or 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Barricades must be returned on the first business day following the event unless otherwise arranged with Public Works. Questions regarding barricades should be directed to 815-436-3577. 4. No alcohol shall be sold at any block party or gathering. 5. No person attending any block party in the public right-of-way shall make any loud noise or disturbance which will create a nuisance for persons not attending the block party. 6. No tents, poles, inflatable balloons or other types of fixtures/structures shall be placed into the pavement or situated across the right-of-way. 7. The person(s)/group(s) organizing the event shall be responsible for the removal of all litter, refuse, or property deposited in the public right-of-way resulting from the block party or gathering. 8. That portion of the public right-of-way to be used by the block party or gathering shall be designated by an appropriate number of barricades, to be provided by the Village. 9. There is a $100 refundable deposit for barricades due immediately with permit. Deposit is refunded upon the return of Village barricades in serviceable condition. 10.
