Nominate Your Favorite Leesburg Street, Neighborhood or
Public Place
Leesburg, VA (October 31, 2012) – October was National
Community Planning Month and the Town of Leesburg’s
Planning and Zoning Department will be continuing the
celebration with an effort to recognize the community’s favorite
streets, neighborhood and public places. Citizens are invited to
nominate their favorite Leesburg places by visiting the Town
website, completing a short online form and sending a photo, if
they wish. Deadline for nominations is Monday, November 26,
2012.
“We want to highlight the fact that the places we love – streets, neighborhoods, public places –
didn’t just happen,” explained Susan Berry-Hill, Leesburg’s Director of Planning & Zoning. “They
were designed. A lot of care was taken to ensure the individual elements of these places work
together. The whole process of creating great places is what community planning is all about.”
The submitted photos of Leesburg’s favorite streets, neighborhoods and public places will be
uploaded to the Town’s Flickr account (www.flickr.com/photos/leesburgva), and the public is
invited to tag photos of their favorites. The best photos may be chosen to be included in the
rotating slideshow on the homepage of the Town’s website. A final list of nominated places
will be featured on the Town’s website.
