HomeMy Public PortalAbout2922-1974 - Appropriation - From the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund - Supplies & MaterialsORDINANCE NO. 2922-1974 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00) FROM THE MOTOR VEHICLE HIGHWAY FUND. G,HEREAS, certain extraordinary emergencies have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money for the various functions of the City Government than was appropriated in the annual budget. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana: SECTION 1. That for the expenses of the City Government and its institutions for the year ending December 31, 1974, the following amount of money is hereby appropriated and set apart out of the fund named and for the purpose specified. Said sum being subject to all laws governing the same. Such amount appropriated shall be held to include all expenditures authorized to be made during the year, unless expressly stipulated by law. SECTION 2. That for the said fiscal period, there is hereby appropriated from the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund the following specified amount to meet the extraordinary emergency hereby declared to exist: SUPPLIES - (3--37 ) OTHER SUPPLIES MATERIALS - (4-43) PARTS OF EQUIPMENT AMOUNT REQUESTED $1,500.00 $3,500.00 Total AMOUNT APPROPRIATED $1,500.00 $3,500.00 $5,000.00 SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and is subject to the laws of the State of Indiana governing emergency appropriations. Councilman Marino presided with the following members present: Messrs. Brown Cornett Geier Merchanthouse , Mills , Williams Absent: Flctrn , Shields . The following business was had to -wit: (OTHER BUSINESS HAD) The Clerk presented proof of publication of Notice to Taxpayers printed in the Richmond Palladium Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of August 7 and August 14, 1974 Said notices stated that a public hearing would be'Feld on the 19th day o 4 , by the Common Council to consider additional appropria- tions as provided for in Ordinance "10 2922-1974 , within the City of Richmond, Indiana. The proof of publication and posting of notices were examined and found to be correct and in order. Councilman G i r moved the proof of publication and posting of notices be received an or ered filed, seconded by Councilman Cornett and on voice vote the motion was carried. The Clerk read on second reading Ordinance No.2922-1974 Councilman Geier moved for engrossment of Ordinance No. 2922-1974, seconded by Councilman Cornett and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Councilman Geier moved to suspend the rules and read Ordinance No. 2922-1974 on third reading by title only, seconded by Councilman Cornett and on a call of the roll the following was recorded: Ayes; Brown, Cornett, Geier, Merchanthouse, Mills, Williams and Marino. Noes; None. The vote being 1-0 in favor of suspension. The Clerk read by title only on third reading Ordinance No. 2922-1974. After hearing all persons present, Ordinance No. 2922-1974 was placed on final passage or rejection and on a call of the roll therf 1—owing was recorded: Ayes; Brown Cornett Geier Merchanthouse Mills Williams , Marino. Noes; None , Absent: Elstro Shields. , The vote being __ 7_ to 0 in favor of passage oOrdinance o. -1974.
