HomeMy Public PortalAbout2927-1974 - Appropriation - Local Road & Street Fund - R & S #11, Right of Way, NW 5th, Interstate 70 to 850 feet south of SheridanORDINANCE NO. 2927-1974 AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE THREE HUNDRED SEVENTY-EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS ($378,000.00) FROM THE LOCAL ROAD 8A STREET FUND FOR R & S #11, RIGHT OF WAY, NORTHWEST 5TH, I1-ITERSTATE 70 TO 850 FEET SOUTH OF SHERIDAN STREET. WHEREAS, certain extraordinary emergencies have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money for various functions of the City Government than was appropriated in the annual budget. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA: SECTION 1. That for the expenses of the City Government and its institutions for the year ending December 31, 1974, the following amount of money is hereby appropriated and set apart out of the fund named and for the purpose specified. Said sum being subject to all laws governing the same. Such amount appropriated shall be held to include all expenditures authorized to be made during the year, unless expressly stipulated by law. SECTION 2. That for the said fiscal period, there is hereby appropriated from the Local Road & Street Fund to be used for R & S #11, Right of Way, Northwest 5th, Interstate 70 to 850 Feet South of Sheridan Street, the following specified amount to meet the e)traordinary emergency hereby declared to exist: AMOUNT AMOUNT REQUESTED APPROPRIATED LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND $378,000.00 $378,000.00 These funds are to be appropriated for the following project: R & S #11, Right of Way, Northwest 5th, Interstate 70 to 850 Feet South of Sheridan Street. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and is subject to the laws of the State of Indiana governing emergency appropria- tions. Brown Cornett Elstro Geier , Mills Williams Absent:Merchanthousg, Dr. Shields , The following business was had to -wit: (OTHER BUSINESS HAD) The Clerk presented proof of publication of Notice to Taxpayers printed in the Richmond Palladium Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of August 21 and August 28, 1974 Said notices stated that a public hearing wou d be held on the 3ra day o September , by the Common Council to consider additionaTappropria- t ons as provided for in Ordinance ,10. 2927-1974 , within the City of Richmond, Indiana. The proof of publication and posting of notices were examined and found to be correct and in order. Councilman Geier moved the proof of publication and posting of notices be received an or eyed filed, seconded by Councilman Elstro and on voice vote the motion was carried. The Clerk read on second reading Ordinance No. 2927-1974 Councilman Elstro moved for engrossment of Ordinance No. 2927-1974, seconded by Councilman Geier and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Councilman Elstro moved to suspend the rules to read by title only on third reading Ordinance No. 2927-1974, seconded by Councilman Geier and on a call of the roll the following was recorded: Ayes; Brown, Cornett, Elstro, Geier, Mills, Williams and Marino. Noes; None. The vote being seven (7) to zero (0) in favor of suspension.
