HomeMy Public PortalAboutMInutes_CCSpecialMeeting_09112007CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL SESSION SEPT. 11, 2007 AT 5:30 P.M. AT IONA
COMMUNITY CENTER
PRESENT: Mayor Brad Andersen, Council members Clip Holverson, Steve Elliott,
Dennis McArthur, Clerk Betty McKinlay
VISITORS: None
The Council discussed the engineering service proposals for the improvements on the
water system. Three engineering firms sent in their proposals — Keller, Schiess, and
Forsgren. The Council will view the proposals and then set up interviews with each firm
on Sept. 25th at 6:30 p.m.
The Council discussed the watering at the school. Council member Steve Elliott
suggested having a summer rate of $1200 and winter water rate of $600 per month. The
Mayor will talk to Attorney Dale Storer about the issue.
The Mayor told the Council about a water right coalition meeting Thursday night,
September 13th in Idaho Falls if anyone wanted to attend.
The Mayor mentioned he got a notice about seeding the clouds and they needed money to
help. Council member Steve Elliott said he thought they had enough money since
Bonneville County and Idaho Falls were contributing and maybe we would not have to
contribute.
The Council discussed the annual water fee assessment. Attorney Dale Storer said we
should not be charging the people the assessment fee unless we have an ordinance in
place.
The special council meeting closed at 6:35 p.m.
