A RESOLUTION: AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE CATOCTIN CIRCLE CULVERT
REPLACEMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF$108,833.84
WHEREAS, it is necessary to replace a failing 60" Corrugated Metal Pipe(CMP)under Catoctin
Circle, SW between Dry Mill Road and Rosemeade Place in the vicinity of the W&OD Trail;and
WHEREAS,the Town intends to utilize the Job Order Contract(JOC)Number QQ-01587 between
the County of Loudoun and Madigan Construction Inc.to save time and money;and
WHEREAS,Madigan Construction,Inc. submitted a proposal to replace the Catoctin Circle Culvert
for$108,833.84;and
WHEREAS, it will be necessary to close Catoctin Circle SW at the work zone for three days;and
WHEREAS,notification for the public will be provided by message boards,newspaper ads,the Town
website and a postcard to be mailed to all residents in the vicinity;and
WHEREAS,the repair is funded at$170,000.00 as part of the Department of Public Works FY2014
Budget;and
WHEREAS,the Director of Public Works recommends awarding the Contract to replace the Catotin
Circle Culvert to Madigan Construction,Inc.
THEREFORE,RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. The Catoctin Circle Culvert Replacement Contract is hereby awarded to Madigan
Construction,Inc. in the amount of$108,833.84.
SECTION II. The Town Manager is authorized to execute this contract.
