A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF REAL PROPERTY TO
LOUDOUN WATER AND EXECUTION OF A PURCHASE AND
SALE AGREEMENT BY THE TOWN MANAGER
WHEREAS, Loudoun Water desires to acquire Town-owned property on the site of the
Kenneth B. Rollins Water Treatment Plant in order to design and construct the Loudoun Water
Potomac River Water Intake;
WHEREAS, in addition to acquiring of the real property, Loudoun Water also desires to
purchase a temporary construction and permanent easements from the Town on the site; and
WHEREAS,the terms of the acquisition thus far are advantageous to the Town and the
sale of the real property and easements will benefit the residents of the Town.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Town Council authorizes staff to take the appropriate legal steps towards the advertisement and
sale of land and easements to Loudoun Water at the site of the Kenneth B. Rollins Water
Treatment Plant and further authorizes the Town Manager, and Mayor as appropriate,to execute
the Purchase and Sale Agreement and other legal documents, approved by the Town Attorney,
on behalf of the Town.
