HomeMy Public PortalAbout2937-1974 - Appropriaton - From the Cumalative Captial Improvement Fund - Traffic Lights ImprovementsORDINANCE NO. 2937-1974 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUN OF TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000) FROM THE CUMULATIVE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND (CIGARETTE TAX) FOR STREET AND TRAFFIC LIGHTS IMPROVEMENTS AND RIGHT-OF-WAY AT WEST MAIN AND SOUTHWEST 1ST. WHEREAS, certain extraordinary emergencies have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money for the various functions of the City Government than was appropriated in the annual budget. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COt•1MON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA: SECTION 1. That for the expenses of the City Government and its institutions for the year ending December 31, 1974, the following amount of money is hereby appropriated and set apart out of the fund named and for the purpose specified. Said sum being subject to all laws governing the same. Such amount appropriated shall be held to include all expenditures authorized to be made during the year unless expressly stipulated by law. SECTION 2. That for the said fiscal period, there is hereby appro- priated from the Cumulative Capital Improvement Fund (Cigarette Tax) the following specified amount to meet the extraordinary emergency hereby declared to exist: AMOUNT AMOUNT REQUESTED APPROPRIATED STREET AND TRAFFIC LIGHTS IMPROVEMENTS AND RIGHT -OF- $20,000.00 $20,000.00 WAY AT WEST MAIN AND SOUTHWEST 1ST STREETS SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and is subject to the laws of the State of Indiana governing emergency appropriations. Promenade City Clerk Subscribed and sworn to before me, a Notary Public, this 1 day of Notary Public My commission expires: EXCERPTS OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building of said City Octgbgr 7. 1974 , at the hour of 7:30 P.M. . Councilman Marino presided with the following members present: Messrs. Rrown - Cornett , F15trp GgjPr Merchanthouse Mills Williams , Absent: None . The following business was had to -wit: (OTHER BUSINESS HAD) The Clerk presented proof of publication of Notice to Taxpayers printed in the Richmond Palladium Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of Sept. 18 and Sent. 25. 1974 Said notices stated that a public hearing would be Reld on the 71h day of by the Common Council to consider additional ons as provided for in Ordinance No. 2 - , within the City of Richmond, Indiana. The proof of publication and posting of notices were examined and found to be correct and in order. Councilman G�ieer�r moved the proof of publication and posting of notices be received and ordered filed, seconded by Councilman Merchanthouse and on voice vote the motion was carried. The Clerk read on second reading Ordinance No. 2937-1974. Councilman Elstro moved for engrossment of Ordinancce No. 2937-1974, seconded by Councilman Geier and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Councilman Williams moved to suspend the rules and read Ordinance No. 2937 on third reading by title only, seconded by Councilman Mills and on a call of the roll the following was recorded: Ayes; Brown, Cornett, Elstro, Geier, Merchanthouse, Mills, Williams and Marino. Noes; None. The vote being eight (8) to zero (0) in favor of suspension. The Cleric read on third reading by title only Ordinance No.2937-1974.
