HomeMy Public PortalAbout2945-1974 - Appropriate - Park Department for Electric Current Food for animalsORDIilAOCE NO. 2945-1974 AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF EIGHT THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS ($8,135.00) FROM THE PARK DEPARTMENT GENERAL FUND FOR SERVICES CONTRACTUAL (2-22-221) ELECTRIC CURRENT ($5,000.00) AND FOR SUPPLIES (3-37-372) FOOD FOR ANIMALS ($3,135.00). WHEREAS, certain extraordinary emergencies have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money for the various functions of the City Govern- ment than was appropriated in the annual budget. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COP,iMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA: SECTION 1. That for the expenses of the City Government and its insti- tutions for the year ending December 31, 1974, the following amount of money is hereby appropriated and set apart out of the fund named and for the purpose specified. Said sum being subject to all laws governing the same. Such amount appropriated shall be held to include all expendi- tures to be made during the year unless expressly stipulated by law. SECTION 2. That for the said fiscal period, there is hereby appropriated from the Park Department General Fund the following specified amount to meet the extraordinary emergencies hereby declared to exist: AMOUNT REQUESTED AMOUNT APPROPRIATED ELECTRIC CURRENT (2-22-221) $ 5,000.00 $ 5,000.00 FOOD FOR ANIMALS (3-37-372) 3,135.00 3,135.00 SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and is subject to the laws of the State of Indiana governing emergency appropriations. Councilman Marino presided with the following members present: Messrs. Rrnwn , Cornett Elstro, Geier Hilton Merchanthouse Mills Williams. Absent: None , , The following business was had to -wit: (OTHER BUSINESS HAD) The Clerk presented proof of publication of Notice to Taxpayers printed in the Richmond Palladium Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of October 23 and Oct. 30, 1974 Said notices stated that a public hearing would be held on the 4th day o by the Common Council to consider additional appropria- t ons as provided for in Ordinance No. 2945-1974 , within the City of Richmond, Indiana. The proof of publication and posting of notices were examined and found to be correct and in order. Councilman Geier moved the proof of publication and posting of notices be rece v� an or Bred filed, seconded by Councilman wiiliams and on voice vote the motion was carried. The Clerk read on second reading Ordinance "o. 2945-1974 . Councilman Geier moved for engrossment of Orcinance No. 2945-1974 seconded by Councilman Brown and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Councilman Geier moved for suspension of the rules and read Ordinance No. 2945-1974 by title only on third reading, seconded by Councilman Merchanthouse and on a call of the roll the following was recorded: Ayes; Brown, Cornett, Elstro, Geier, Hilton, Merchanthouse, Mills, Williams and Marino. Noes; None. The vote being nine (9) to zero (0) in favor of suspension.
