HomeMy Public PortalAbout2948-1974 - Appropriation - Cumulative Capital Improvement Building Fund - Bus BenchesORDINANCE NO. 2948-1974 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF FIVE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($5,500.00) FROM THE CUMULATIVE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUILDING FUND FOR BUS BENCHES. WHEREAS, certain extraordinary emergencies have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money for the various functions of the City Govern- ment than was appropriated in the annual budget. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA: SECTION 1. That for the expenses of the City Government and its insti- tutions for the year ending December 31, 1974, the following amount of money is hereby appropriated and set apart out of the fund named and for the purpose specified. Said sum being subject to all laws governing the same. Such amount appropriated shall be held to include all expendi- tures to be made during the year unless expressly stipulated by law. SECTION 2. That for the said fiscal period there is hereby appropriated from the Cumulative Capital Improvement Building Fund the following specified amount to meet the extraordinary emergency hereby declared to exist: AMOUNT AMOUNT REQUESTED APPROPRIATED BUS BENCHES $5,500.00 $5,500.00 SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and is subject to the laws of the State of Indiana governing emergency appropriations. Councilman Marino presided with the following members present• Hessrs Brown Cornett , Hilton Merchanthouse Absent: None , The following business was had to -wit: Elstro Geier , Mills Williams (OTHER BUSINESS HAD) The Clerk presented proof of publication of Notice to Taxpayers printed in the Richmond Palladium Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of October 23 and Octobe Said notices stated that a public hearing would be held on the 4tthh. day o by the Common Council to consider additional—appropria- t ons as prov or in Ordinance Mo. 2948-1974 , within the City of Richmond, Indiana. The proof of publication and posting of notices were examined and found to be correct and in order. Councilman Geier moved the proof of publication and posting of notices be receive and ordered filed, seconded by Councilman Hilton and on voice vote the motion was carried. The Clerk read on second reading Ordinance No. 2948-1974 Councilman Williams moved for engrossment of Ordinance No. 2948-1974, seconded by Councilman Geier and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Councilman Williams moved for suspension of the rules and read Ordinance No. 2948-1974 on third reading by title only, seconded by Councilman Elstro and on a call of the roll the following was recorded: Ayes; Brown, Cornett, Elstro, Geier, Hilton, Merchanthouse, Mills, Williams and Marino. Noes; None. The vote being 9-0 in favor of suspension. The Clerk read on third reading by title only Ordinance No. 2948-1974. After hearing all persons present, Ordinance No. 2948-1974 was placed on final passage or rejection and on a call of the roll the following was recorded: Ayes; Brown , , Elstro Geier , Hilton S Merchanthouse t Mills Williams Marino Noes; Cornett. Absent: None , The vote being 8 to 1 in favor of passage o rd nance No. 2948-1974.
