A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE FOR
CLEANING SEWER LINES
WHEREAS,the approved Fiscal Year 2014 Utilities includes funding for purchase of a
replacement vehicle that includes a self-contained jet rodder and sewer vacuum; and
WHEREAS, quotes were solicited and received pursuant to the Virginia Public
Procurement Act; and the Town has opted to ride the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA)
contract with Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems; and
WHEREAS,the purchase price for the vehicle is $329,257.19 has been negotiated, and the
Town will receive $28,790 for the trade-in of the existing vehicle; and
WHEREAS,the Town's Chief Procurement Officer, and the Director of Utilities
recommend purchase of this equipment to Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems in the amount of
$329,257.19.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Town Manager is authorized and directed to purchase this equipment from Mid-Atlantic Waste
Systems of Baltimore, Maryland in the amount of$329,257.19.
