Agenda: -.To interview reappointment candidate to the Watertown
Traffic Commission
John S. Airasian, 43 Bailey Rd., Two Year Term to - Expire 05/15/12
Meeting called to order at$6:33 P.M,
Mr. Airasian stated he has served on the Traffic Comm. for the past
42. years asdid. his father before him. As the business liaison on
the Commission, he has regular interaction with the citizenry,
understands the dynamics of the -community -and -emphasizes public.
safety as the overriding factor in any issue before the Commission.
He feel that planning, zoning and.tzaffic-axe..intertwinech There
should continue to be correlation so that Watertown is not hurt by
any proposed development. In his opinion,trafficstudies will tend
to tell you what you want to hear. The Boards should not lose sight
of Watertown's desirable location and what that means to developers...
Issues we discuss today, have been pioneered through his tenure as
follows:
- illegal apartments and their impact on parking
- restrictions on front yard parking
- tandem parking regulations with amendments. to the..zoning..ordinence
• handicapped parking spaces for residents
- enforcement of the overnight parking.. ban
Councilor Kounelis motioned to recommend to the Full Town Council
the confirmation of the reappointment_o£ John S. Airasiantc the
Traffic Commission for a term of two years to expire on 05/15/12.
Seconded by Councilor Lenk.

Councilor Kounelis motioned to adjourn. Seconded..by Councilor Lenk.
