RESOLUTION NO. 2013-134 ADOPTED November 12, 2013
A RESOLUTION: SETTING THE CY 2014 TOWN COUNCIL CALENDAR
WHEREAS, the Town Council traditionally meets in formal session at 7:30 p.m., on the
second and fourth Tuesday in each month and sits as a"committee of the whole" convening at
7:30 p.m. on the Monday preceding the regular council meeting in the Council Chambers, 25
West Market Street; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council traditionally cancels a set of meetings in August to
provide for summer break; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council traditionally cancels the second meetings of December to
observe the Christmas holiday; and
WHEREAS,the Town of Leesburg observes Federal holidays on May 26 and October
17, 2014; and
WHEREAS,these Federal holidays will conflict with the work sessions; and
WHEREAS, a Federal holiday occurs on November 11, 2014, concurrent with a normally
scheduled Town Council meeting date; and
WHEREAS,the set of meetings that would be scheduled for November 24 and 25 occur
during the week of Thanksgiving.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. The Town Council shall meet in formal session at 7:30 p.m., on the second
and fourth Tuesday in each month and shall sit as a"committee of the whole" convening at 7:30
p.m., on Monday preceding the regular council meeting in the Council Chamber, 25 West

Market Street or at such time and place as the Council may determine from time to time with the
following exceptions:
1. The work session meeting of May 26, 2014 is cancelled to observe Memorial Day.
2. The work session meeting of October 13, 2014 is cancelled to observe Columbus
Day.
3. The Regular session meeting of November 11, 2014 is cancelled to observe Veteran's
Day.
4. The work session meeting of November 11 and November 24 will be a combined
Regular session meeting/Committee of the Whole.
5. The Regular session meeting of November 25 will be cancelled.
PASSED this 12th day of November, 2013.
