A RESOLUTION: TO EXCLUDE US ROUTE 15 FROM THE BOUNDARY LINE
ADJUSTMENT FOR MORVEN PARK
WHEREAS,the Westmoreland Davis Memorial Foundation, Inc., a non-profit
corporation which owns approximately 990 acres outside the Town limits within Loudoun
County, known as Morven Park,which is utilized for community and educational events, has
expressed a desire to be within the boundaries of the Town; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council expressed a desire to have the Morven Park property
brought into the boundaries of the Town; and
WHEREAS,the Town Council passed Resolution 2013-107 on September 10, 2013,
thusly initiating a Boundary Line Adjustment to bring the Morven Park property into the
boundaries of the Town; and
WHEREAS,the Town Council, through Resolution 2013-107, directed Town staff to
bring information and a recommendation regarding the potential to bring a portion of Route 15
into the Town as part of the Boundary Line Adjustment; and
WHEREAS, Town staff engaged in due diligence with respect to Route 15 near Morven
Park and brought the information to the Town Council at their work session of November 25,
2013 for consideration.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that any
portion or part of US Route 15 shall be excluded from the Boundary Line Adjustment for
Morven Park.
