A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR INTERESTED TOWN RESIDENTS
TO SERVE ON A TASK FORCE ON WORKFORCE DIVERSITY WITHIN
THE TOWN OF LEESBURG GOVERNMENT
WHEREAS,at the December 10,2013 Town Council meeting,Council approved Motion 2013-052
that authorized the establishment of a Task Force on Workforce Diversity within the Town of Leesburg
government;and
WHEREAS, Motion 2013-52 states as follows: I move that the Town Council establish a Task
Force on Workforce Diversity. The Task Force will be compromised of ten (10) Town residents that
represent a diversity of race, ethnicity, and gender. The Task Force will meet four (4) times during 2014
with the purpose of providing feedback and advice to the Mayor, a Council member, the Town Manager,
and the Town's Human Resources Manager, all of whom should attend each meeting, on ideas and
suggestions to increase the diversity of applicants seeking employment with the Town.
THEREFORE,RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
Town Council authorizes the Town Clerk to advertise for interested Town residents to serve on a Task
Force on Workforce Diversity within the Town of Leesburg government. The Task Force will consist of
seven (7) Town residents selected at-large by the Town Council along with one (1) official representative
each from the local NAACP, LaVoz, and one (1) other appropriate organization for a total of ten (10)
members.
